Stepford Republicans

My good friend, Janis, mentioned the Stepford Republicans.  And she's on the money with that description. It's not all Republicans.  It's just the trolls that show up and cling like a fucking fungus to your comments.  Those Republicans, they're the Stepford ones.  They all say the same things.  And they all eventually end up saying them the same way. Generally, they start off talking about how irrational liberals are and then, after you rationally beat their asses into the dirt for a few hours, they degenerate into pretty psychotic and downright creepy rantings. Take this troll Mark, for instance.  He and I exchanged a bunch of emails today.  Mostly, it was him saying ridiculously stupid things, and me explaining to him why he’s so damn dumb.  Oh, I also taught him some American history and some current events.  Things like that.  There wasn’t really enough time to teach him math or science, or what he thinks he’s reading in the bible. And after a while, it got pretty boring.  Because he’s so damn dumb and, also, it’s not my fucking job to educate wingnuts.  I don’t get paid for it, and it’s harder than teaching retarded children. So, pretty soon, I got bored.  And Mark was getting kookier by the email.  So I stopped answering him, and deleted a crazy, fucking whacko comment he left on my blog.  Which only made him crazier. Just to give you an idea of how crazy he got, here's an email he sent me after I got bored and stopped answering him: From: [email protected] Date: Mon, 29 Nov 2004 15:35:24 EST To: ricky Subject: CHECK & MATE My dearest Little Ricky, You loose. Mark Now, I am a cheap little tart.  But that's kind of a personal secret.  And not something I expect to hear from strangers.  I also don't like being accused of being "loose".  I guess that has something to do with being a tart. Anyway, that's what I'm talking about.  These nuts start off calling you irrational and, after you beat them into the dirt for a little while with facts, that kind of craziness is what they degenerate into. It’s fucking mental, isn’t it?  I mean, how fucking creepy and weird is that?  What do you imagine is wrong with that fucking guy? I don't know. But it’s fucking funny, too, don't you think?  Reading a guy coming completely unhinged in email! And the funniest thing is:  it always happens.  Always.  With all of these clowns.  You can browse through my comments over the past year and find a half dozen of these freaks coming undone in the same weird, frothing at the mouth sort of way--melting down in public into some sort of creepy stalker-esque bizarre…something…or other... It's weird.  It's pathetic.  But it's predictable. Hence, my boredom.

In 1981, the national debt was down to 32.5% of our GDP.

After twelve years of Reagan and Bush, the national debt skyrocketed back up to 66.3% of our GDP.

For you wingnuts, that’s an increase. A big one.

After eight years of Clinton, the national debt had been again paid down to 57% of our GDP.

Again, for you wingnuts, that’s a decrease.

After four years of Bush, the national debt is now back up to 65% of our GDP. And according to the government's projections, it’ll be over seventy percent before the end of Bush’s term.

And that, if you’re a moron, is how “liberals” invented deficit spending.

White House And Republican Congress Explore New Ways To Bury United States In Debt And Higher Taxes, While Cutting Benefits

WASHINGTON , Nov. 27 - The White House and Republicans in Congress are all but certain to embrace large-scale government borrowing to help finance President Bush's plan to create personal investment accounts in Social Security, according to administration officials, members of Congress and independent analysts.

"The president does support personal accounts, which need not add over all to the cost of the program but could in the short run require additional borrowing to finance the transition," Mr. Bolten said. "I believe there's a strong case that this approach not only makes sense as a matter of savings policy, but is also fiscally prudent."

Proponents say the necessary amount of borrowing could vary widely, from hundreds of billions to trillions of dollars over a decade, depending on how much money people are permitted to contribute to the accounts and whether the changes to Social Security include benefit cuts and tax increases.

Yepper, that sure is fiscally prudent--borrowing hundreds of billions or trillions in order to get such terrific rewards such as benefit cuts and tax increases.

It's no wonder Republicans are jubilant at Bush's victory--just look at what they've won!

And to think, just a couple of years ago, the budget was balanced, money was pouring into the Social Security Trust Fund, and there was enough left over to actually pay down the national debt.

I just love what these Republicans have done with our government! Don't stop! Give us all ya got!

AWOL Texan Sends Texans To War

Louis Qualls , of Temple, was killed on Nov. 16 - the latest of 12 soldiers and Marines from Texas killed in combat this month, 10 in the province that includes Fallujah. It was an unusually high toll for one state, even in this deadly month of warfare.

At least 108 U.S. soldiers and Marines have died in combat in Iraq this month, 99 of them since Nov. 8, the day American-led forces began a successful offensive to subdue the insurgent stronghold. It has been the second-deadliest month for American troops since the Iraq invasion, surpassed only by last April's 135 deaths.

Texas has borne many casualties. Of the 1,230 military members who have died since the beginning of the war, at least 110 were from Texas, or nearly 9 percent. The state has about 7.5 percent of the U.S. population.

Shortly before he was killed on Nov. 9, Marine Staff Sgt. Russell Slay wrote a letter to his family. In it the 28-year-old Humble resident, anticipating death, said his goodbyes to his young children.

He told his 9-year-old daughter Kinlee that he'll miss her, but that she'll always be his little girl and he'll always watch out for her. To 5-year-old Walker, he offered advice that he hoped would put the boy on a less risky career path.

"Be studious, stay in school and stay away from the military," he wrote. "I mean it."

Well, if them boys had really wanted to live, they would have been born to richer families. Not all Texans in the military have to go to war, you know. Some of them don't even have to show up.

Unless they want to take advantage of that free, taxpayer provided dental care, that is.

"Liberal" Media Scrubs Any Mention Of Exit Polls As Indication Of Fraud

In Washington, meanwhile, the White House issued a statement saying the United States is "deeply disturbed by extensive and credible indications of fraud committed in the Ukranian presidential election."

Earlier partial results showed Yanukovych less than one percentage point ahead. An exit poll, conducted under a Western-funded program, gave Yushchenko 54 percent of the vote to Yanukovych's 43 percent.

Another poll put Yushchenko ahead by 49.4 to 45.9 percent, the Interfax news agency reported.

And, as we all know, results that vary from exit polls are a pretty clear indication of election fraud. Like Dick Morris, former political consultant, now Clinton bashing FOX News Republican shill says:

Exit polls are almost never wrong. They eliminate the two major potential fallacies in survey research by correctly separating actual voters from those who pretend they will cast ballots but never do and by substituting actual observation for guesswork in judging the relative turnout of different parts of the state.

Of course, Dick was trying to explain why exit polls in the United States were different than the final election results:

Long before the polls closed, Tuesday's exit polling, which included presidential preferences as well as gauges about the importance of issues to voters, had been widely circulated via the Internet along with independent voting predictions. All suggested unusually strong numbers for Kerry.

By midnight, Bush was declared the winner in Florida, though throughout the day the state had been predicted a winner for Kerry. Similar predictions in Ohio were also found to be wrong as the state was put in Bush's column.

So, that’s weird. That neither the White House nor our “liberal” media felt there might be any election fraud in the United States because exit polls did not agree with final tallies. Instead, in the United States, we were told that the election went smooth as silk and the exit polls were fucked up.

But, I’ll tell you, the even weirder thing is that, today, after a day or two of stories talking about Ukrainian exit polls, CNN , and The Washington Post, and The New York Times have all dropped any reference to “exit polls” in their coverage of election fraud.

It’s almost as if someone suddenly noticed the implication on the legitimacy of our own elections, or something. I don’t want to sound paranoid or anything, but all of those news sources, a day or two ago, mentioned the disparity between final results and the exit polls. And, today?

None of them do.

Congress Reminds Taxpayers How Excited They Are About Going To Mars

WASHINGTON , Nov. 23 - The budget increase Congress just voted for NASA is a clear endorsement of President Bush's plan to send astronauts back to the moon and later Mars, the head of the space agency said Tuesday.

Yes, the people certainly did rally around President Bush’s call for a Mars mission. After he mentioned it once—and only once--in his State of the Union address. And never again. I mean, Bush didn't mention it on the campaign trail. He didn't even mention it one time in three debates. Not once. But the American people were crazy about the idea anyway!

That must be why Congress appropriated all that money. It couldn’t be that Tom DeLay was spending billions of taxpayer dollars in his own district. It couldn’t be that.

NASA officials also acknowledged the role of the House majority leader, Tom DeLay of Texas, whose district includes the Johnson Space Center, in securing the spending.

Oh.

Bush Administration Plans To Reduce Deficit By Pretending It Doesn't Exist

Republican budget writers say they may have found a way to cut the federal deficit even if they borrow hundreds of billions more to overhaul the Social Security system: Don't count all that new borrowing.

As they lay the groundwork for what will probably be a controversial fight over Social Security, Republican lawmakers and the Bush administration are examining a number of accounting strategies that would allow the expensive transition to a partially privatized Social Security system without -- at least on paper -- expanding the country's record annual budget deficits. The strategies include, for example, moving the costs of Social Security reform "off-budget" so they are not counted against the government's yearly shortfall to our democracy.

Accounting strategies?

Why not? It worked so well for Enron. I’m sure it will work just as well for our government.
