It was okay. A little uneven, and, really, a little too much Vietnam. I mean, before his speech he had the whole damn swift boat crew up there, a Green Beret whose life he saved, and horribly wounded Max Cleland. 'Nuff said.
His service was admirable, honorable, even awe inspiring. It spoke for itself. And it should have been left to.
He was at his best when he was, without specifically attacking Bush, generally attacking Bush. My two favorite moments were his mentioning soldier's families having to buy body armor for their sons and daughters in Iraq--which the idiots, or "pundits", keep forgetting (or pretending they've forgotten) Bush's lack of planning has forced families of American soldiers to do--and his excellent choice of quoting the Great Emancipator about being on God's side.
Nice touch. Very nice.
And I loved entering to the Boss's "No Retreat, No Surrender", and exiting to U2's "Beautiful Day".
All in all, it was good enough to whip the Boy King's pea under the mattress bruised and pampered princess butt.
But I still think he should have gone with my idea.
Excellent for him to mention the fact we're building firehouses in Iraq and closing them here at home. He had many great points and did an excellent job explaining the difference between the republican and democratic parties. And many fair jabs at Bush while still being classy about it. Hopefully he'll clinch enough undecideds.
Plus, his comment about "hair" pollution in Harlem was priceless.

I caught that as well. Though I winced. I feared he might have lost the all important Afro Sheen vote.

"exiting to U2's "Beautiful Day".
Whatever. 5 songs later and he's still there. When does this thing end? I liked the attention to his military service because anyone watching can't help but compare it to the Shrub's desertion. Anyone, one that say's he's not clear on his positions now, is an IDIOT that doesn't deserve to vote.
Hey, do I have to watch the RNC or are you gonna do it for me? I don't think I can drink enough to make it bearable.

Oh, yeah, also, I wished he'd have mentioned Bush is still drinking like a sailor on leave.
But you can't have everything.

Oh, yeah, the other thing I liked was when he turned around Bush's totally dishonest claim to restore honesty and dignity to the White House.
I totally loved to see Kerry hang that well deserved taint of being dishonest and dishonorable on George W. Bush's shoulders, where it not only belongs, but where it is very, very comfortable being.

My vote is for the science line:
"We need to have a president who believe in science..."
fucking priceless.
