Bush Attempted To Intercept Terrorists In F-102 Delta Dagger

I'm over at the White House website and I come across this:

Returning from Sarasota, Fla., where he first saw news footage of the attack, President George W. Bush immediately gathers his senior staff in the private dining room off the Oval Office Sept. 11, 2001. And I don't want to be petty, and I don't think I am, but can this administration be honest about anything?

Is that how it happened? The president immediately returned from Sarasota, Florida and gathered his staff to deal with the worst attack on American soil in the history of the nation?

Because on September 11, 2001, I remember the President flying from Sarasota to Louisiana, where he made a brief, unreassuring statement that told the public nothing, while looking quite shaken and frightened, and then he flew to Nebraska to seek shelter in a deep NORAD hole in the ground.

Meanwhile, the rest of the nation was confused and without any leader except for the mayor of New York.

That's how I remember it, and I was watching CNN and MSNBC, and every other channel that was showing anything at all that day. And I don't remember the president flying back from Sarasota and immediately gathering his staff.

But on the official White House website, providing the official White House version of the events of September 11, 2001, the president returned from Sarasota and immediately gathered his senior staff.

Immediately? When was that? Like twelve hours after the Trade Towers were destroyed?

Does this bother anyone as much as me? That this administration can not be honest about anything? Even things that 280 million Americans watched with their own eyes?

I don't want to overstate my case here, but when I read this on the official White House web page I really became concerned that we are being led by people who are either pathological liars or delusional.

I mean, that's not mere "spin". That's just making shit up.
