As of Sept 30th, the debt was $10,024,724,896,912.49.
Ten trillion dollars. And growing. Under eight years of fiscally conservative leadership in Washington. It's shocking.
But not nearly as shocking as what might have been!
Let me take you back. Back to a time when out of control tax and spend liberals ran the government!
President Clinton announced Monday that the government’s anticipated budget surplus will exceed projections by almost $2 trillion over the next decade–a cornucopia of cash that he proposed using for both the Medicare prescription drug benefit he has championed and a tax cut Republicans want for married couples…
But his plan got a chilly reception from Republican congressional leaders, who viewed it as a political maneuver that would provide too little tax relief and too much domestic spending.
“I would not be interested in a raw deal where American families get just a few more pennies in tax relief and President Clinton gets a trillion-dollar blank check for more government spending,” said House Ways and Means Committee chairman Bill Archer (R-Texas)…
The surplus windfall had been widely expected by budget analysts, but Clinton’s announcement officially confirmed its breathtaking magnitude. His Office of Management and Budget now forecasts that a $1.9-trillion surplus will pile up over the next 10 years–more than double the $746-billion figure projected just four months ago…
In revising his proposal for how that burgeoning surplus should be used, Clinton said that he wants to pay off the national debt by 2012–a year earlier than he had once proposed.
Wait! Don't break your molars yet!
Ari Fleischer, a spokesman for presumed GOP presidential nominee George W. Bush, said the estimates validate Bush’s claim that there would be plenty of room in the federal budget for his ambitious plan to cut taxes and still have money for other priorities.
The new report “shows that [Bush’s] plans to cut taxes, pay down debt, reform Social Security and increase spending for essential priorities like education, health and defense all fit within government revenue estimates,” Fleischer said.
In eight years, these criminals and morons doubled the national debt. They sent us back to a national debt level this country hasn't seen since the early '50s. In eight years. They spent so much money in eight years, they set the U.S. taxpayer back sixty years.
I will be dead long before this country is the shape it was eight years ago. So will you.
And for what? What did you get? Better infra-structure? Cheaper education? Parks? Museums? More vacation? A better quality of life?
Sorry, but you didn't get any of those things.
What did you get?
According to the Idiot In Chief, if after 8 years you can believe anything he says, the average family saved maybe $2000 a year from his "tax cuts". If we're generous, because his "tax cuts" were in both 2001 and 2003, and we attribute that suspect $2000 from 2001 until today, then the "average" family got $14,000 in tax "relief".
While the Bush administration and the Republican Congress rang up five trillion dollars in new debt. That the "average" family most certainly has to pay off. Exceptional families, like the Bush's and the Cheneys and any number of new American aristocrats won't have to pay because, really, if you try to make them, they can just move to the Caribbean or Bahrain or any number of places where they don't have to pay taxes at all.
But even if they stayed and paid their share of the debt, what would that be? Last year, about one hundred million Americans filed tax returns. Nowhere near one hundred million paid taxes. But one hundred million of them filed returns.
That would make each person filing a return's tax debt--just on the five trillion the Gee Oh Pee added in the last eight years $50,000.
You saved $14,000. And now you owe $50,000.
Plus the other $50,000 you owed before Asshead took office. Which, by the way, if Asshead had never taken office, you'd be two thirds of the way to paying off.
That's right. If Dickweed had stayed drunken and defeated in Texas, and taxes had stayed exactly at the ridiculously tolerable level they were in 2000, and a bunch of douchebags hadn't stolen hundreds of billions of dollars from the national treasury to prop up non-competitive Republican bidnessmen with taxpayer dollars, Americans would be about four years from paying off the national debt.
In which case, we would have all received a tax cut at least the equivalent of eliminating defense spending. Completely.
And, as an added bonus, China and Saudi Arabia wouldn't be majority shareholders who could wreck our economy if they just felt like it.
And what did you get for all that money that's gone? Five trillion dollars of debt? On top of the taxes you were paying? Can you name anything?
Christ, even the military is in worse shape than when these douchebags stole the White House.
And, oh yeah, wait until the actual bill, the bill that's been hidden from us, comes due for the damage to our military in Iraq. It'll be twice what we've been told. At least.
And, yet, on my TV set right now, John McCain is running commercials about those "tax and spend" Democrats who are going to raise your taxes! And most Americans believe that Democrats, despite Obama's stated tax plan, are going to raise their taxes! And most pundits on the Tee Vee and in the Newz Paperz discuss how the Democrats are going to raise our taxes!
The Democrats are not brilliant, altruistic people who are always in every way right and on the side of good. They are regular people who are sometimes stupid, sometimes greedy, and sometimes corrupt.
But by all objective standards, the modern Gee Oh Pee is in every way stupid, duplicitous, corrupt, wasteful, expensive, ineffective, incompetent, and often--way too often--disturbingly perverted.
These Republicans have wrecked our Gubment. They've wrecked our economy. They've wrecked our military. They've wrecked our moral authority. And they've saddled each and every American with a tax burden that no American will live to see erased.
Why are we even having debates? Why don't all Americans understand this? Why does the modern Gee Oh Pee even exist, since it most certainly doesn't represent anything to do with "conservative" anything?
I know. Don't answer.
It must be the liberal media bias that's propping up this monstrous right wing American wrecking machine.
