Bush Or Nixon?

Jo, The Spanglemonkey asked a great question, I think. Who is the worse president, Nixon or li'l Georgie Bush?

I said:

Oh, gosh--Bush by a long shot. Just listen to what all the Nixon people--John Dean, Scowcroft, Kevin Phillips, Kissinger--are saying: they're all appalled by Bush and amazed he hasn't been impeached.

Though, they shouldn't be. Aside from Bush dealing with a completely corporately controlled, conservative and disfunctional media for three years, and aside for Republicans controlling all three branches of our government and completely thwarting the checks and balances, this country has taken such a turn to the right that Nixon would look like a Democrat today.

A crooked one, but a little bit left of Joe Biden or Joe Lieberman.

Twenty five years ago, the Bush administration wouldn't have looked just imcompetent. It would have looked like the kooky extreme fringe that it really is.

I mean, can you even imagine Nixon telling a foreign leader that he bombed Hanoi because God told him to???

And hardly anyone blinked when Bush said God told him to not only strike the Taliban, but to strike Saddam, as well.

That's how fucking nuts not only Bush is, but how nutty we've become.

Bush is much worse.

I could write a lot more about why I think Bush is the Worst President Ever, but I wonder, what does anyone else think?

Nixon? Bush? Who? Why?

Three Years Later, Rumsfeld Ready To Start War On Terror

WEST POINT, New York (Reuters) - The United States' declared war on terror is closer to the beginning than the end, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld told graduates of the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday.

Yeah, no shit, Donald. We know it's just beginning. Mainly because you incompetent fools haven't done shit for three years.

Why is it just beginning???

This asshole should not be allowed to resign. He should be fired.

Forgotten al-Qaeda Blossoming Under Bush Administration

KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) - Suspected al Qaeda militants killed 16 people, including Westerners, and seized 50 foreign hostages on Saturday in a second major attack in a month aimed at destabilizing the top world oil exporter, Saudi Arabia.

Wouldn't it have been great if we had invested 200 billion dollars to finishing the job in Afghanistan and pursuing al-Qaeda around the globe instead of settling a Bush family score in Iraq?

Bush isn't just an expensive failure. He's getting people killed. Lots of them.

Total Incompetence, Part 52

The Bush administration appeared to be caught off guard and somewhat confused yesterday after the Iraqi Governing Council nominated a physician with longtime CIA ties as the post-occupation prime minister. Officials in Washington scrambled to respond after the Iraqis took the public lead in a process that was supposed to be run by a U.N. envoy.

Gosh, it's so reassuring to read that the Bush administration is confused and surprised by it's own five part plan.

Wouldn't it confuse you and catch you by surprise to read that something happened that the Bush administration expected or planned for?

Bush's Other Accomplished Mission

KABUL, Afghanistan - Four American soldiers were killed in action in a troubled province of southern Afghanistan (news - web sites) at the heart of a stubborn Taliban-led insurgency, the U.S. military said Sunday.

The genius of Bush is that his appalling disaster in Iraq has distracted us from the total mess he left in Afghanistan.

Sixty International Men Of Mystery Voice Displeasure Of Bush

Leaders of almost 60 European, Latin America and Caribbean nations said Friday they want the United Nations to remain the premier organization to resolve international conflicts, and they called for U.N. reforms to make that possible.

Although it didn't specifically mention the United States, it was clear the summit's draft document was critical of Washington's foreign policy and the allegations of torture and abuse of prisoners in Iraq. The meeting was a signal to the Bush administration to shed its go-it-alone tendency and return to the U.N. fold.

But our "liberal" media will continue to laugh at Kerry's assertion that foreign leaders would prefer him to Bush...

GOP Accuses Kerry Of Playing Politics With Politics! Press Breathless!

Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman said Kerry's "hate-filled attacks" won't help prevent future terror attacks or help win the guerrilla war that has followed the U.S.-led invasion that ousted Saddam Hussein.

"John Kerry's insistence on playing politics with the war on terror seems to have prevented him from offering any substantive policy ideas," Mehlman said.

Now that the press is feeling all stupid and embarrassed for their total failure to accurately report the 2000 election and the Rush To War, maybe they can find the brass ones to comment on this non-stop flow of stupidity that passes for a "Bush Campaign response".

The "hate-filled attacks" is so old and so over the top and so retarded, it's frankly amazing that the "liberal" media even bothers to keep repeating it. I mean, if Kerry disputes a Bush budget projection, some troll from the RNC starts blathering about Kerry's insane hatred of Bush and some dipshit stenographer from the New York Times writes that stupidity down.

But, beyond that, when is the press going to note the irony of the Bush campaign continually accusing Kerry of playing "politics" during a political campaign?

I mean, what the fuck should Kerry do? Play semantics? Play checkers? Play middle linebacker?

He's a fucking politician, you idiots. It's a political campaign, you morons. Why is this repeated nonsensical remark given any consideration at all? And why isn't the Kerry campaign given the opportunity to respond to allegations of playing politics with a pointed, "No? Duh!"

Why on earth would our idiotic Washington press corps think that, if John Kerry was playing politics with a political issue during a political campaign, what he's saying should in any way be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism???

And why have 99.99% of the stupidest people on God's green earth chosen to become journalists?

The other 0.01% are, of course, editors.

Ambitious Second Bush Term Envisions Fucking Record Number Of Americans

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Bush administration has told officials who oversee federal education, domestic security, veterans and other programs to prepare preliminary 2006 budgets that would cut spending after the presidential election, according to White House documents.

The programs facing reductions - should President Bush be re-elected in November - would also include the National Institutes of Health, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Interior Department.

...

The documents show spending for:

-domestic security at the Homeland Security Department and other agencies would go from $30.6 billion in 2005 to $29.6 billion in 2006, a 3 percent drop.

-the Education Department would go from $57.3 billion in 2005 to $55.9 billion in 2006, 2.4 percent less.

-the Veterans Affairs Department would fall 3.4 percent from $29.7 billion in 2005 to $28.7 billion.

-the Environmental Protection Agency would drop from $7.8 billion in 2005 to $7.6 billion, or 2.6 percent.

-the National Institutes of Health, which finances biomedical research and had its budget doubled over a recent five-year period, would fall from $28.6 billion to $28 billion, or 2.1 percent.

-the Interior Department would fall 1.9 percent from $10.8 billion in 2005 to $10.6 billion.

And that ain't the half of it. This guy has been such a wreckless, irresponsible, incompetent fool while actually paying attention to politics. Once he doesn't have to worry about being re-elected--what am I saying?--elected, he may actually swill bourbon on TV and contract out the national mints to Haliburton so they can just print our money directly into their hands.

What a disaster. What a train wreck of an unqualified, incompetent president.

This is not politics as usual. This is not partisanship.

This is The Worst President Ever. Ever.

Health Care In Danger Of Being Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush will try to solidify his support in a Southern state where his Democratic rival is showing strength with a visit and a discussion of his ideas for high-tech innovation in the health care field.

Jesus Christ, is there any way to stop Bushzilla? Is there any way to halt his reign of destruction before nothing is left??? Can't he just stick to regular war profiteering and the gutting of our regulatory agencies?

Please, God, don't let the Disaster Monkey whirl into the law and our already screwed up health care like the Tazmanian Devil...

Would Someone Tell The GOP That No, Hamilton Never Tried To Explode Jefferson

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A convoy carrying a member of the Iraqi Governing Council was ambushed Thursday shortly after leaving Najaf to return to Baghdad.

Four people in the convoy were killed, but the council member survived the assassination attempt, another member of the council told CNN.

...

Three of al-Khafaji's personal bodyguards and an aide were killed in the attack, said council member Mahmoud Othman.
